the problem with kicking an apple off a sword...
I finally found this video online after a long search and it is just as disturbing as the first time I saw it a few years ago. This is why YOU DONT KICK AN APPLE OFF A SWORD. Oh my god!

Reminds me of a saying we had in the Navy.

The stupid shall be punished.

This is a strong reminder that swords aren't toys.
Personally, I think it serves him right for showboating like that.

My favorite saying from the Army is:

There is a fine line between hardcore and dumbass
Having been cut deep with one of those swords before I can sympathize...but dumb is dumb. Sheesh...at least my wound was an unintentional accident and not the result of showing off to a crowd.

Professional magicians and others who do stuff like that for a living use dull swords for a reason...or practice it a lot first to get it perfect.
What's funny is that it's on "The Learning Channel"! I guess he "learned" being a showboat has it's consequences...
That whole clip building up to that was just asking for trouble.....but some people never learn. :\
What gets me is that his irresponsibility with this stunt is now reflected on the responsible portion of the martial arts community. What's next? A division of the "Xtreme Karate" Championships devoted to kicking things off swords and spears??!! My appologies for ranting, but I don't like it when the actions of one person reflect poorly on the remainder of a group of people. I am very sorry about his injury and wish him to have no future complications as a result of it. However, a person who misbehaves with a dangerous object will be taught a lesson by it.

 I've done some stupid things over my 50+ years ... but never anything THAT stupid. Swords are weapons, not toys, and the skill that he was attempting to demonstrate had really no practical application. One would hope that the fellow learned from this experience.
I'm probably going to get scolded for this, but that was funnier than $#!+
Well, I won't scold you. If you do something that stupid, >Intentionally< Than you deserve to be laughed at.

I do however hope that he pulled through it and that such an accident will not hinder any future, hopefully better thought out performances.
Didnīt he learn anything from that? I tought he was saying in the end of the intervju that he was training to do another try?
What's stupid is that he is going to try it again *shakes head*

Well, at least he will try a spin round kick instead a that front let-me-cut-and-impale-myself one of the first attempt...this time he's gonna cut only the side of his poor foot
Now that he knows where the sword point is, let see if he can discover what the cutting edge is... :)
He's lucky he didn't try the first time with a two-edged sword.
