Crossbow videos
This is a video of one of the tests we ran in a bow we made. The shot was at 60 yards. You can see a flicker of the bolt as it is shot and you can hear the very definite impact of the bolt from the shooters side. The video was used as a promotional tool. It is posted here as to the power of a mere 150lb pull bow.

Notes:

The shot was recorded at about 240 fps i believe, later we tuned the bow to a max of 269fps. This is faster then a period shot, however not shown was a 240lb steel prod at the same range, same target using the same bolt and crossbow. The bolt actually sunk 1/4" deeper. I view this as a comparative shot vs the fiberglass prod we made for the video against a heavier prod but slower moving bolt on the steel prod which if memory serves was about 195fps.

Also the bolt itself used a field tip as small bronze bodkins were making the bolt pass through the ply board. This speaks to the effectiveness of the bodkin. I figure this would show what happens to shields on even a low power bow that would be around the range of a 240lb steel prod or a decent laminated horn type prod.

Newest notchlock to roll off the line
Have posted a video to the newest custom notchlock crossbow.

The video itself was a silly thing to do for the buyer of it, but it shows the bow.....

Warning, make sure you have your volume down low - the music hits hard and loud .
