A SCOTTISH BASKET-HILTED BROADSWORD
Early 18th Century
With double-edged blade cut with a pair of narrow fullers extending from the base of the ricasso (pitted), iron basket-hilt of rectangular bars carrying pierced panels, S-shaped bars (one incomplete) and 'ram's horn' bars (one missing), no provision for a rear quillon, retaining an early leather liner, compressed fluted pommel, and original grip bound in wire and fishskin.

ENGLISH BASKET-HILTED CAVALRY BACKSWORD
circa 1610-40
With single-edged blade cut with a series of very narrow fullers over its entire length on both sides, stamped 'Andria Ferara' in small capitals on both sides and struck additionally with a series of Spanish bladesmith's small marks, iron munition hilt of flattened bars carrying a pair of small plain rectangular panels, retaining its original buff leather liner, globular pommel joined to the front of the guard by a small ring-headed screw and original wooden grip retaining a portion of its original binding with 'Turk's heads'.

Those are lovely, Mac. Thanks for the post.
Some of the rapiers in the lot / catalog actually appear to edge into the realm of the affordable.

Same with some Halberds.

Although I notice that some of the stuff is Victorian reproductions (probably all the cheap ones).
So Mac, which one did you buy? ;)
