Hello all,

I am looking for good websites with information on arms and armour of the English civil war of 1642-1645.

Many thanks

www.sealedknot.org

This is the UK's top ECW re-enactment organization, so this would be a good starting point. There are also
some good books on the subject as well, David Blackmore's - "Arms & Armour of the English Civil War" is an excellent book and can be order from the "Book" section of this site, reviews on the book are there too.

Are there any specific things/items that you are most interested in from the ECW?

Cheers,

Bill

There is a LOT of good information out on ECW arms and armour, as well as equipment. The various Osprey books on the subject are a good intoduction, but the sky is the limit if you want to get serious. My own interest is in Horse, so here is a nifty article on ECW Dragoons that I thought was pretty worth while:

And here is another, which admittedly is aimed at SCA folk, but it has some broader info in it that is worth reading.

Also check out the links in the English Civil War Society of America's website: http://www.ecwsa.org/

Good luck in your search,

Allons!
