Steel Predicament
So now i have an almost complete late gothic armour, many hours (and kronor/€) spent on research and micro-managing designs at the different armourers. But the problem now is that the idea of having a blunt sword hitting my precious sallet with full force is NOT so pleasing. The predicament of wanting to fight with force and violence, but hate having my gorgeous armour do anything but save my life when im defeating the danish..;)
It seems to me that the only option is to get a SECOND full armour. One of lesser price and "beauty" that i can mangle and take on two-handers with a smile in..
Am i insane or has anyone else shared this dilemma? And if so, how did YOU solve it........?
Sorry to have to tell you this, but your only hope is a second set ,apart from swords I also have a large knife collection of the modern variety some of wich get used for teaching bushcraft others accompany me to far flung jungles to assist archiologists in digging out long lost temples etc,I confess that I have copies of each in my collection all in pristine condition as I could not bear to use them otherwise. (Sad isn`t it ?.) You are not alone.
Richard.
I use milanese armour. Also expensive.I have the same problem. But after several scratches on the armour I stop worrying about it...The best way is to avoid damage is not being hit
