Hafted Weapons in Medieval and Renaissance Europe
Looks interesting, but pricey:

Hafted Weapons in Medieval and Renaissance Europe
The Evolution of European Staff Weapons between 1200 and 1650
John Waldman

Cheers,

I'd like to get this book. It's on my wish-list. But like you said, it's quite expensive.

Check it out in our bookstore: http://www.myArmoury.com/books/item.php?ASIN=9004144099

It's on several member's reading lists. There is one review of it there.

You can think of it as roughly the equivalent of Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword or Pierce's Swords of the Viking Age but for Polearms. All in all an informative and well written book and well worth the read in my opinion.
It's the best book on the subject. I'd say it's worth the Amazon list price, but I got mine for slightly less with a book club discount card.

By the way, there's an earlier discussion about this here:
http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=4744

I posted a full table of contents there to give folks some idea of whether or not it addresses their particular interests.
I do wish that Brill would come to the realization that there is a good market for most of their catalog in affirdable trade paper editions. As it is, I can only look out for them at used book stores. But thanks for the posting, I will add it to my list of books to keep an eye open for.
