I never played Warhammer, unless the Dawn of War PC game counts, but I can see the spirit of the game in this piece. Its a great piece on its own. Knowing the context its designed to reflect makes it even better. Very well done by all.

John-
I think the reaction to this piece has been really cool! It makes me wonder how many of us, like myself, began their interest in "real" weapons through interest in fantasy weapons....probably a lot of us! It's definitly a cool piece. Keep it up!

That's an awesome knife, but why call it "chaos?" I mean, I could probably go into any knife store and find a knife named chaos. It's a cool name, but there are betters. Like... Steve for instance. I would name my knife Steve. yes.... STEVE THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS!!! again., awesome knife

"Sinister"... That was the first word that came to mind (and an evil grin crossed my face) when I saw Kevin's scabbard.
You know how many times, a product is created based on a previously existing or historical example and the maker totally misses the mark? It's great to see something produced based on 40K that really comes across accurately. You guys really nailed it and did justice to the rich 40K universe.
You guys make a great team!
For the next project, how about a fully functional chaos bolt gun to match...

Awesome job John and Kevin! I could definitely see this one hanging off the belt of a Blood Pact! Any plans for a Catachan knife or two in the future?

I'd say it definately counts. The PC game is really, really close to the table top game. Especially when it comes to design and aesthetics.

Why call it Chaos? Because there's a context and a meaning to it. Yes, you could probably find a hundred cheap decorative knives out there called Chaos, but with most of them it's just a random word that doesn't actually mean anything. This one is called Chaos in the context of Warhammer 40,000, where the word Chaos has a very specific meaning, and that makes it more than just a cool-sounding phrase someone once saw in a dictionary or a fantasy novel.

Which would make the name appropriate.

It also looks like a fantasy version of a Civil War D-Guard bowie |

Hey everyone,
Thank you all for all of the positive feedback. Kevin and i had a blast working on this project and plan to do many more projects in the future.
The only thing missing is the belt suspension that Kev is working right at this moment.
It even has pattern weld buckles!!!

Wow, that whole piece just screams CHAOS!
Ever thought about doing a Nurgle-inspired piece? That would probably be challenging in the extreme.
