I spent seven arduous years studying my maternal ancestry and found a couple of lines to "Longshanks", does anyone know if he had a particular sword? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this would be a sword I would strongly consider for a custom commission.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

While I am unaware of any surviving swords purported to have been Edward I's, his great seal does show a sword which according to Oakeshott in his Records is Remarkably Similar to XIV.2( picture attached). While it shares the same blade and cross as XIV.2, Edward's has a unclassified pommel that has 3 lobes.
If anyone has a better picture of Edward I's seal it might help, as the drawing is not the best, but the only one I could find.
Hope this helps,
Dan

New poster here. Thought I might as well start off with some art, so this is my interpretation of the sword in the seal:
The pattern welding look is a bit much, but I love the "chrome" filter in Photoshop!
