Here's a shot Stephen took of that dirk !

Perhaps the Royal Armouries rotates certain pieces thru the Frazier and they are not permanent displays ?

Mac,
The Royal Armouries does rotate items through the Frazier (every three years), which the article mentions. :) I think that the current items are the original set of items on loan, since the museum hasn't been open three years yet. I certainly didn't see that display on either of my visits, and I tried to photograph every item at least once. Perhaps it got recalled early to Leeds.

Try not to be too Eurocentric. ;)

Hisham,
I a couple of weeks ago now. I did enjoy it (my second visit). I even wrote an article about my first trip, too. :) I took plenty of pictures which are in the article and in the photo albums section. And yes, there are non-Euro items in there. Since the Royal Armouries loaned a chunk of the collection on display there, though, there is an obvious euro-centricity to their items, especially since the Royal Armouries portion of the museum traces Britain's history from 1066 to the colonies. The only non-Euro items were there as displays on Britain's colonizations in Africa/India, etc. Those galleries were poorly lit, so very few pictures came out, besides the katar discussed here. The rest of the items are mostly colonial American.
