For Sale: Jason Dingledine 18.5" Wakizashi
This listing has been REMOVED and is no longer active

I know it's my first post here and all, but I am a regular member over at Sword Forums and have been so for quite a bit of time. Jeff Ellis, a former student of mine, and a good friend recommended I repost this here...

Feel free to contact me here via Private Messages or via email at my listed email in my profile.

Here is a nice little blade. WHen I say little I mean a 18.5" Nagasa...

The blade style is a shinogi-zukuri, the sori is about 3/8th of an inch or so.

The boshi is omaru, and there is quite a bit of healthy kissaki, so if, god forbid, you were to chip the kissaki, a good togi could fix it with ease.

Harmon is an irregular toran, that also reaches about 1/8 way down the ihori mune.

The blade is hand forged, but not folded.

Now some special details. The blade has been polished, kissaki reshaped, habaki and shirasaya done up by Joe Walters. Quite frankly Joe does amazing work on Jason's stuff.

I am asking $900 and shipping and handing for the wakizashi. At this time I am unwilling to ship out of the CONTUS due to various laws in Europe and Asia. I am willing to make SOME exeptions if I know you from any other forums.

Here are some images. I can take some detail shots if people desire them.

Just giving a friendly bump.

I've handled this blade and was very impressed with it. if money weren't tight, i'd take it off Bill's hands.

Very hefty blade (and any type of Joe Walters' work is becoming more and more rare these days..)

This piece is quite underpriced as well. Jason's work, unpolished, goes for 50 dollars an inch..

This is fully polished for that price...

Just a little more info:

The blade is forged from my normal W1 round stock, and was made during my apprenticeship to Randal Graham. This is the first shinogi-zukuri blade, and first wakizashi that ever left my shop.

A similarly mounted blade (with a full art polish by Brandon Thell) from me currently would run around $2600. This is a major deal for one of my early pieces at the price that William is asking.

With this information, the blade is off the market. Sorry folks.

Jason, did Joe get in touch with you during the polish?

William;

Seems like a good idea to keep this one or sell it some time in the future for much closer to what's it is worth.

Oh, and welcome to this site ( Not an official one as I am just another member. ) Hope you find interesting stuff to read and post topics of your own. )

In any case this forum is not for general discussion but is the Marketplace forum so I will keep it short.
