Thanks, Shawn. I'm really proud of the job Albion did on Discerner. Like my dad would have said "they did good". :)
When I first saw drawings of that blade I thought it looked pretty cool. Now that I've seen pictures of it I think it looks better than that. The wide shoulders must help distribute the shock of impact. (Not that I expect this sword to see much hard use)Then it narrows into what looks like a lively blade with a vicious tip. Very nice.
Thanks, Keith! Discerner really does perform very well. The last few days since the sword arrived, I've been so busy just admiring it that I haven't had a chance to really put it through the wringers of handling. However, just this morning I did a personal review of the sword for Albion to put on the Discerner Chronicles page. As I started my routine with the sword, I was very pleasantly surprised by it's handling characteristics. It is very light, lively and fast ... responds immediately without any clumsiness and is extremely comfortable. In fact, I got so into playing with the sword that I nearly forgot to write my review!

I sometimes wish I could win the lottery, if for no other reason than to go on a sword shopping spree and buy tons of the many wonderful swords out there. There are so many I'd like to have ... but I always come back to thinking about Discerner and it does my heart good and proud to know that it can fall into the same category with so many of the other swords out there: that of being an "excellent and fine sword". :)

I've been reading a lot of wonderful testimonials by people who've been acquiring fine swords (and I really need to catch up on posting some congrats to them in their threads). I especially love reading the various testimonials where someone will buy a sword not really knowing what to expect and find, once they have it in hand, that it really surprises them in a nice way. It's like sword-heaven out there ... this is a great day and age to be a sword collector for sure! :)
Couldn't resist putting up another "glamour" shot of my baby here ... hope you all like it ...
Oops ... forgot to attach the picture! My apologies.
