Russ, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of the Duke now that you have it in hand. I have one of those bad boys myself and I like it a lot. I'll be doing a little cutting with it this Sunday.

Hey Andy,
I'll be sure to post a review when I've had a chance to play with it a bit more. I didn't really have time to do more then take it out of the box and put it on a shelf yesterday. I can say that it somewhat surprised me in how alive it felt. Based on the little bits and pieces I read I assumed it was the slower heavier brother of the XIIa (forgive me I can't ever remember all the names) that Albion is putting out, but if it's the slower heavier brother the XIIa must be very very quick indeed.

I'd be all over that schiavona if I had the money, but I just ordered an Albion Gotland. So as a consolation prize I'm taking the Lutel Swiss Saber off Nathan's hands.

That's a nice little consolation prize! I've got one and like it quite a bit. I may still let it go eventually since I've got my sights set on Albion's Knecht, but you know I may just keep them both...

Not a problem, planned to try to get them both up on the site Sunday night. I'll repost them here as well. These reviews aren't so nicely written as the ones that are put up as content here, but they do (I hope) give the reader useful information about the particular sword that is a matter of discussion.

... and the madness continues... did you guys see what that Arms and Armor Irish sword just went for? If I didn't already have that one I'd be smacking my head against a wall right now.

LOL! Good one Steve. I wonder what's up with Patrick F, he bought all those Irish/Scottish swords a couple of years ago and now suddenly he's unloading everything. I wonder if Mac was tempted to buy his claymore back...

You have to be kidding me... Now there's a Black Prince over at SFI for 120 off list and a GBS for 170 off list price. Don't even talk to me about the Gustav Vasa rapier that just sold for 200 less then its list price... sheesh... I think people are doin this just to taunt me...
