Laugh or cry?
Now, I'm normally not much into ripping apart wallhangers, as it is pretty futile. I mean, anyone with some knowledge of swords ought to be able to tell that they are just for decoration. But then I found this on http://www.a2armory.com/index.html... This piece of wall decoration is marketed as follows:

Quote:
This is the sword of the Knights of Malta.
It is faithfully reproduced with fine detail to closely resemble the original style of this medieval sword. Now you can have a beautiful sword that has a story behind it.
The hilt and pommel are 24 karat gold plated and the grip is pewter. This is a sturdy medieval sword made of good material, it will last.

The blade is stainless steel. It will not rust and does not need to be oiled.

This is a beautiful medieval sword that would make a great centerpiece for your collection.

You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase this medieval sword.

If there was ever any need for a rationale for this site, look no further. And they ask $199.00 for it! Heck, buy 3½ of these beauties, and you've paid the same as for an Albion Gaddhjalt. But then the Albion sword hasn't got 24K gold plating...
But - from what year do you estimate it is from Björn?
It is stated to be a true medieval sword.
what type of blade is it according to Oakeshotts topology?

 ;)
Aren't the members of the Maltesian order still carrying cermonial swords? Maybe it looks like these (god forbid!)?
It looks like it should be hanging on the wall in the local truck stop, along with all of the souvenir spoons.
Now your on to something Patrick!...Imagine "The 50 States Sword Collection"

Be sure to get your own limited edition "Kansas Sunflower State" Rapier, or god help me.....Oregon Beaver State Hand and a half
It's an Oakeshott Type Xr ("r" as in "rated"), featured in his unpublished book "The Sword in the Age of Kitsch". The pommel is a Type @$%, and the guard a Style -1. I thought you all knew that...

Bah! Patrick wouldn't lower himself to own a gen-u-wine pigsticker like some folks... He'd probably get talked about by all the old biddies at the rotary club if he bought one - why, that there man has a reputation to uphold. but fortunately since I'm indecent, I get the cool pigstickers.. :p

Now you gotta understand, over in Patrick's armpit of Kansas, those decorative spoons are high class souvineers, and the 'truck stop' is like a shopping mall for rednecks.. so..remember, its all relative...erm..wait. not thats Arkansas, and they're married to their relatives.. my bad.

anyway - yeah... I think a Sunflower State dishhilt rapier... that could be cool.. but only if it were 440 stainless..

Oh, Patrick - I had a blast riding with Troop G. the kid doing 99 in a 70, who was grateful not to be cited for the seatbelt violation... what a hoot. I'd say he was dumber than a mud fence, but that would be unfair to mud fences. I'm just glad we dont have a corner on the idiot market here at the campus PD like i thought...
99 in a 70?

What a puss :p
I for one choose to ROFLMAO!!!
Huh.
:wtf: It seems to me that they say "Medieval" three times in a mere eight sentences. Who are they trying to convince, us, or themselves?
