Ok, ok... I couldn't stand it. It's about to rain outside, but oh well... It isn't yet, and the grass is dry, and I had a warhammer and a full 2-liter.
Yeah, what Evan did... that's about right! I'm soaked all along my right side, from my hip to my head, and my entire right arm.
That also had to be one of the strangest noises I've ever heard, that bottle exploding.
That was absolutely hillarious! I'll have to do that again sometime and video it, just to see the effect.
It's also a bit disturbing... the power in that strike, and I only put about 2/3 into it.

Aaron;
Would like to see what an A & A Poleaxe would do with a gentle love tap: Hammer side and axe side.
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

If I didn't know this was actually historically accurate, I'd think it was a bloopers reel! That's awesome! |
Heh, well, that's not that far from the truth... most people had left at this point, and we had a couple bottles left sitting there. So I thought, "Eh, what the hell." I actually didn't realize Bill had a camera until after I was done... (that's with an A&A Durer, by the way)

Bill,
Glad ya' liked the shots. Heidi & Will G. still have some photos to send me, so we'll see what they came up with.
I'm still finding cantalope shards & milk jug schrapnel in the flower bed......

Thanks again, guys, for your thoughts and ideas about a safe cutting area. We set up a lane (didn't need a hard barricade, as everyone was very respectful of the boundaries) similar in concept as yours - worked wonderfully well. All in all, a very enjoyable cutting exercise, despite the heat. By the time the rain came, we were all quite contently spent. The only carnage was a pile of noodles and a few 2-liters.

Thanks, Bill!
I personally didn't take any photos, but 2 attendees did. I'm sure some good ones will make their way into the forums soon!

Sorry it has taken me so long to see this thread, but my comp has been down for months, I am writing this from my sister's comp...
First up, it was great to finally meet you and everyone else that was in attendence, all very good people.
Some great photos too, especially the pic of Bill using my Durer for that murder-stroke, good stuff.
Such a great collection of weapons, loved the shamshirs, and that basket-hilt was just gorgeous, hats off to Mr. Erickson.
I wish I had more time to reply, but I just wanted to thank everyone for a great time spent, and new friends made.
