Thanks for the link, Risto, particularly to that gorgeous sallet. I'd never seen a historic example with breaths before (only modern repros with them). The style of helm is definately common to the late 15th century, but the style of the bevor and the fact that there are breaths, along with the decorations, make me wonder if it is an early 16th century piece.
Good point about the breaths, didn't think about it myself. The most curious thing about the visor is that it looks like you lift the lower part below the eye slit before you lift the upper part (that is if you can lift the upper part) as it seems they are different pieces.
