A snippet of exciting news...
Well, in a mere two weeks, I, my wife, our two sons and our dog will be on the road moving to Wisconsin. New Glarus, to be precise, where Renee (my wife) and I will start our new jobs at -- Albion Armorers!!

**End of snippet**

Ok. I said it was exciting news ... for us. I never promised it would be exciting for you, too. ;)

Cheers!
Congratulations! Sounds like you're in for a very cool and exciting new job! Good for you!

Cheers,

Gordon

:wtf:

Oh, great. Another bunch of mouths I'll have to help feed... :p

Ok, so that's a little bit of jealous picking. Seriously, though, congrats! Gotta ask - doing what?
I have to echo the congrats and doing what parts of the previous posts?
What duties will you be assuming at Albion, Carl?

Congrats.

Congratulations! ...and the same "doing what" question that everyone else is asking.
Congrats on the Job Carl
What exciting news to make a living at what you love. Good luck with the move and I hope everything goes smoothly. HEHE Nnot many people know my middle name is Rene :D

Ah...what we'll be doing. I'll be working under Eric McHugh's supervision as a sword cutler, and I hope to be able to contribute my experience and hard-won BFA in metalsmithing in support of Albion's ventures with some of my own ideas. I've experience in silver- and goldsmithing, lapidary, casting, wax modeling, etc and ceramics. I'm expecting to learn a heck of a lot from the great artisans at Albion!

Renee's title, I believe, is executive assistant to the CEO (aka Amy). She is also an artist, with strong backgrounds in drawing, batik and ceramics, as well as teaching experience.

I grill a mean swordfish, Aaron. Perhaps I'll feed you. Actually, we've been waiting for the kids to finish school since March, and Renee and I are chomping at the bit to get there and get to work. As we're both ceramic artists, don't be too surprised if you see some ale pitchers, flagons and steins (and perhaps a sake set or two) start to appear on the artisan's page in the future.

Thank you sincerely for the well-wishes everyone! it is very much appreciated!

I just might hold you to that someday, Carl!

Seriously, though, I'm glad to hear about this. It sounds as though we will ALL win in the deal. You guys will have a great bunch to work with, Albion will benefit from your tallents, and the rest of us, well, we get what comes out in the end. As I said, it was a twinge of jealousy - perhaps someday I'll find a way to join you guys up there.

Oh, and as for a stein, ask Mike if I might have a use for such a thing... ;)

I really wish you folks the best.
