WMA groups in (or close to) Indiana?
I live in Anderson, IN (close to Indianapolis) and am trying to find a WMA group to join. I wouldn't mind driving an hour or so once a week. Anyone here belong to or know of a group in that area?
Hi,

I'm afraid it's a bit of a drive away, but I think the group nearest to you is the Chicago Swordplay Guild.

Best wishes
Rabbe
I'm interested in this as well. Unfortunately Chicago is an even longer drive for me since I'm about an hour and a half south east of Indy. I'd never get back in time for work!
David Kite (an ARMA member and swell guy) is somewhere in IN. You can PM him for info if he doesn't respond here.
Hellooo!

I so often feel very alone in this state. ;)

I'm about an hour to an hour and a half west of Indianapolis (speed varying). Terre Haute, Clinton, Rockville area. Work schedule is pretty sporadic but I'm trying to get it settled down.

I drive a lot for my primary job so I try to keep personal driving somewhat to a minimum, but if anyone is interested in driving to me, then heck yeah! (I don't mean to seem lazy, but sorry, I put 3,000 miles on my truck per month now).

Or try over at the ARMA website.

They have forums too. :D
I live in Muncie... right next door to ya! If you find some other folks interested, maybe we could get a group together around here.

Hello all,

I live in Carmel, which is just north of Indianapolis. I've been studying Ringeck on and off fo rhte past two years wih my training partner in West Lafayette (where I go to school). But because of work and school I've slacked off a lot lately. I would definitely be interested in meeting once a week on Saturday if anyone wants to train this summer. RD, what is your WMA background?
Sorry if I seemed to be ignoring replies– I’ve basically spent every waking hour of the last 4 days at work. :(

To answer your question, Jeff, I really don’t have a background in WMA– I’m very interested in learning, though, and thought I’d be better off if I could practice basic skills with a group that knows what they’re doing, rather than trying to learn everything from manuals. I’m happy to do in-depth research, but it seems like I’d develop less bad habits while I’m getting started if I had someone to correct any gross errors. Right now, I’m working most Saturdays, but that could probably be adjusted.

How about you, Mike, are you a newbie like me, or do you have some experience? Either way, it would be good to just have someone to test ideas/skills with.
If you want to get a good jump on WMA basics, we are having a Italian Longsword Seminar this weekend. It is being taught by Schola St. George founder Brian Price. We still have 3 slots open and it is only $50 for both days.

Drop me a line if you are interested and I can hold your spot.
