DIY hilt for backsword blade
Hello all,
I've acquired a Windlass backsword blade that I intend to regrind and make new furniture for.

Does anyone have images or links to backsword blades with early 16th century complex hilts? I'm interested in bastard or single hand Saxon style guards.

My original plan was to make this hilt (below), but now I've begun to see other exciting options out there and I'm hungry for more ideas.

To elaborate a bit, I've seen hilts similar to this one reproduced. I'm looking for variations on this theme that might help me create something that isn't often seen in the reproduction market.

This is the first I have heard of a Saxon style hilt, so I am not sure what the exact definition of it is. However, I think this thread will help you:http://myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=197...mp;start=0

Sometimes it can mean 'similar to swords in the Dresden Rüstkammer' but there are thousands of swords there
