Hello my friends! Lately a lot of people asked me how to make a chape for a scabbard. In this video I'll uncover all the secrets of making a chape at your own workshop with a bunch of simple tools. The best material for beginning is either copper or brass. It should be 1,5 - 2 milimeters thick. But remember. Before you'll start to make your own chape, you need to put the metal in heat and then submerge it in water. At the start of the video I also showed how to make a mold, that will help you with making you a chape.
Thank you for the video (and bonus pet sighting). If people want to make an ordinary bodged-together late medieval chape, not works of art like you make, there are even simpler ways
