I just received a new Danish type M axe (which I will review shortly). Anyway this has me interested in other aspects of early medieval axe make-up.

So we know that many or most type M axes had reinforced edges but did the type L as well? How about what we call the "Sparth axe"?

I am interested in how unique this feature was.
