A while ago there was a post with one or two photos where someone was getting a Corinthian helmet made, possibly by Royals Oak Armory, and they showed a hand felted liner they had gotten made from thick hand felted wool that stood up on its own. Does anyone remember what the thread was called or have a link?

Additionally, does anyone have evidence from any culture or time period before the 18th century of thick (3mm+) felt for liners ir armor coverings? I’ve read a number of the threads here and seen things on Turkish and Mongolian felts, but I’m looking for historical sources or documents or archaeological reports.

Thanks in advance!
