Chris Dobson: Master Armourer and Historian (Website/ebooks)
Hello,

Just wanted to let the forum know that Chris Dobson: Master Armourer and Historian, has recently published a new eBook regarding 15thc Armour.

Art and Armour in the Western Alps

Milan, Savoy and ‘the French style’ 1400-1500

https://chris-dobson.com/italian-armor-in-the-french-style.…

He also has a new book on 15th Italian Armour and 15thc Jousting in Medieval Florence - coming soon.

You should really look at his website and all his other available publications.

https://chris-dobson.com/medieval-weapons-and-armor-books.h…

He is also now taking order for commissioning reproduction armour or miniatures; https://chris-dobson.com/reproduction-arms-and-armour.html

I wanted to spread the word because I know I enjoy these books and and they are great for details on A&A, fashion, history etc..

Thank you,

Todd
Thanks for the info, Todd. I had not realised that he had published some more e-books. I can support your recommendation.
Neil
Hi Neil,

Sorry for the late reply.

I too was delighted to hear he's publishing again, and am glad other members are as well.

I also wanted to mention:
Chris does have a Free Article on Gothic Besagews
https://chris-dobson.com/gothic-besagews-article.html

This gives you a free sample of his writing, and it has 2 besagew patterns at the end.
It's a summary that leads to a more in-depth look at Armour "Alla Tedesca" in another book called:
Alla Tedesca? Italian ‘Gothic’ Armour and the Export Trade
https://chris-dobson.com/gothic-armour-alla-tedesca.html

This book uses the same Besagews from the free article, but it then goes on to cover all parts of Armour "Alla Tedesca"; Helmet, legs, arms, etc. Very cool stuff.

Thanks,
Todd
