A New Batch of Rick Barrett Blades
One of many things that has been going on in Rick's shop the last couple months.

I really should be posting more things about my days over at Rick's, two months ago I would never have dreamed I would be seeing and doing some of the things that I have been.

Yes, please do share! I, for one, am very interested to hear about this stuff.
Here's another shot of Rick's bare blades:

I remember those. I particularly liked number two.

Hey now, number 5 is mine, no selling that one.

Nice to see that Rick was making nice use of my drafting table.

:p
Numbers 1 & 2 are also sold. The one on the far left is an heirloom Civil War sword which Rick was comissioned to replicate.
Number 4 is a sexy beast
It has been a long day, but here are a few pictures.
The first two are of me claying up a blade.
The third I am bring a blade up to temp.
Finally my first heat treated blade.
I might have to post a better picture of the blade sometime.
I'd like to see more of #4 and #10 eventually.. those look very koshi-zori to me.... unless its the angle of the pics screwing up the perspective.. i didn't realize there was much call for koshi.. I prefer it personally.. uber-elegant to my eyes..
Ah, yes...claying blades...I spent a good 3-4 hours doing that one day when I was out visiting Rick. He's got some great blades around there. I just wish I lived closer so I could do more.
