Hello,

I have recently acquired a pair of Celtic Swords - one long, one short - designed according to the La Tene era, made by Viktor Berbecucz. They include steel scabbards with brass ornamentation.

I am in the process of restoring them because they were sadly neglected before I got them. What I am unable to determine from going to Viktor's website, however, is what variety of steel they are made of.

Does anyone here happen to know? It's not pertinent to how I get the rust off of them and keep them from rusting again, but I would like to know.

Thanks for all responses!
