Time to move another item to a deserving home.

I am asking $ 850, s/h/ins to be discussed per the buyer's
desires. I prefer money-orders, but we can discuss an
arrangement via PayPal as well. B-)

I purchased this Al Massey Baskethilt from Mr. Thomas
McDonald in 9/03. I believe his name MIGHT be recognized
by a few of the forumites here. B-) Mr. M DID cut with it -- I
believe he told me plywood was the blade's preffered enemy
at the time B-) -- but I have not. Consequently the blade has
some scratches and wavey edges, due to what I believe was
professional resharpening. In my opinion, these facts do NOT
detract from the blade at all, on the contrary they give this sword
tons of personality, character, and presence !

Mr. M had the sword custom built. It is a tough'n'rugged affair
whose basket was antiqued per Mr. M's design, I believe. I
commissioned Christian Fletcher to make the scabbard, this
before he opted to JUST work on Albion and Atrim swords. The
scabbard is just as rugged !

Some stats :

The blade is 31 3/8 inches of 5160 steel, 2 inches wide at the
hilt, just over 1 1/2 inches wide at the top of the fuller, which is
11 3/4 inches long, and 1 1/4 inch wide just before the point. The
basket length is 4 1/2 inches, the grip -- wire wrapped wood -- is
4 1/4 inches, and the baske width is 4 inches at the narrowest
widening to 4 1/4 inches. Point of balance is about 4 1/2 inches
in front of the hilt. The scabbard fits nicely, although there is a bit
of awkward space between where the hilt and scabbard mouth
meet; but this is barely noticeable unless you're taking a very
close look.

Here's a pic of the bi-dirk set that will come with the
baskethilt. It is also made by Al Massey.
