So, I have two questions: does anyone know of any "combatives" in World War I, or where they all taught informally at the unit level? The second question is if anyone happens to be in contact with Plowshare Forge? His site has a line that says he's relocating, but it's still up. Any help would be appreciated.

In response to the first question, the answer is yes, there are a number of manuals and some film on YouTube. start with Arthur Elmer Marriots' 'Hand-to-hand Fighting: A Sysytem Of Personal Defense For The Soldier' a reprint is easily available. There are a number of bayonet manuals around too. Enjoy the hunt.
