Hello everyone,

I have a First World War period epee style sword belonging to a member of the Austro-Hungarian volunteer auto mobile corps. This was a volunteer unit formed in the early 20th century of men who owned private automobiles. It was meant to alleviate some of the shortage of motor vehicles in the military.

This pattern sword was adopted in 1910, and of course the Austro-Hungarian empire ceased to exist in 1918, so it dates from that period but I cannot say exactly when.

The only markings I have seen on the sword are on the hilt:
K.K. OESTER. FR. AUTO-KORPS.

Does anyone have any more information on this sword or its value? I have the scabbard as well. The sword is in very good condition, the scabbard has spots of surface rust and the plating has been worn off where the scabbard was worn in a frog. Send me a PM if interested and I'll create a marketplace post.
