Late medieval ship found in Baltic in pristine condition
It has a pinnance on the deck, the capstain and anchors, and the swivel guns are intact. Quite large ones.

It is clinker built and has two strait and one lateen mast. I would guess 1480-1520, north-German construction (maybe Bremen or Danzig) and I'd call it a cog-carrack hybrid. The lateen mast makes it also partly a caravel hybrid. You see a lot of ships like this though from the 1470's or 1480's labeled as 'Krak' in German artwork.

What an amazing discovery. I can't believe the level of preservation: capstain, bilge pump, deck guns, standing rigging, even the longboat on deck.

WOW, That's amazing. I'd love to see some rich dude build a replica!
To help visualize it, a Carrack (Krak) by Conrad von Grunenburg, third quarter of the 15th Century

See the pair of big anchors on the front? Just like in the shipwreck. These have three masts though.

Note the single lateen sail mast though that is on the stern

These have the bowsprit lateen sail / mast (spritsail?) on the front like in the shpwreck, though these are more sophisticated with 4-5 masts.

Model of the Hanseatic Warship Peter von Danzig, which was active in the Anglo-Hanseatic War in the 1470s. Note the small bowsprit lateen sail / mast on the front and the position of the anchors.

As a side note, while under the command of Danzig city councilor Paul Benecke, that ship was involved in the capture of the mayor of London and the defeat of a Florentine war-galley off of Bruges, during which they seized the famous Hans Memling tryptich, The Last Judgement which is still in Gdansk, Poland.
I'm impressed by how abruptly the planking is curved at the stern. Very unusual sailing rigs.
