Hans Holbein the Younger's "Bad-War" print seems to show the mail strips on the arms. The style is imilar to the depiction of the mail collars in the same source.

That would sure be a great find, if an example still exists.
I think that such armor, integrated into a garment would be reused if the garment wore out or was damaged. Are there any examples of mail strips that would be appropriate for attaching to clothing?
Chances of finding surviving originals??? I'd say slim to none. This type of armor would surely have to been a 'one-shot deal'. I have a leather Harley jacket with sewn-on mail strips and jack-chains.....I doubt it will see 100 years, much less several hundred. ......McM
