I am currently participating in a dig in Northern Israel near Afula. Last week we found a knife while removing a balk between two squares. Material from the Middle Bronze age, crusaders, Mamelukes and Ottomans has been found on the site, so dating is difficult. It is hard to see in the pictures, but there seems to be a "T" shaped cross section that runs along the back edge. The sharpened side is in the inside of the curve. Attachment: 42.74 KB

I don't believe it is a Jambiya, the tang and cross-section are not the same. As for a sica, I don't think anything was found in the strata that would date it that early.
