What would have been the typical weapons of city state militias and condottieri during this period? Was there any sort of uniformity or would they be more of a mixed infantry with troops armed with random polearms or whatever was available?

I came across this illustration of the battle of Fornovo which seems to show the italian infantry armed like hoplites with enormous triangular spearheads. Would that have been typical for italian infantry?

This is no more the epoch of city-states in Italy. Venice had extended its rule on the terra ferma (inner landmass, this because of the death of the Bizantine Empire that guaranteed its maritime routes), rest of Italy was mostly in the hands of the Signori (Lords), and the rule of the time was to use mercenaries led by professional Condottieri.

The oval shield was typical for the Venetians, you can find some nice examples if infantry soldiers in Carpaccio's Storie di Sant'Orsola for example

Italian infantry in the XVth century tended to fight "alla leggera", i.e. lightly armoured.

An interesting other source is the Quadro di Sant'andrea - battaglia tra ginesini e fermani, painted in 1463

start of the description, follow any link for detailed views of the painting
