You have a legal obligation to do so. That being said, the item is not in any way treasure, and you'll get to keep it.
Its hard to see from the photos clearly what it is. More would be helpful... but my educated guess would be some sort of a fisherman's knife, most likely from the 19th or 20th century given that level of corrosion. Its quite possible it is earlier, but not much to go on at the moment. I doubt its any more recent than 1950.. and could very well be as old as the 18th century or earlier.
