I've been in this hobby for close to 20 years now (good lord, has it really been that long?!?), and I have seen quite a few swordsmiths attempt to recreate, or at least closely-replicate, that sword. Granted, I'll never be able to compare how the sword feels or functions with the original-- I don't have that many friends "in high places"!

But, from the general appearance, not only in the decorative details, but also in the lines and proportions of the sword, you consistently make some of the absolute best!

If you're ever in the mood to try something a little different, I'd really like to see what this sword would look like if the rain guard were traded for a pair of side rings that had the same shape as the cross/quillons! Wink

Beautiful sword AND scabbard! I can see that on the hip of a Crusader. I, personally, think the 'family crest' is a bit distracting, but as they say...the customer's always right. Wink ....McM

I have no idea how you do it, but each one of these you make somehow gets even better than the last one!

Extremely impressive, especially the detail of the cross!

I agree with this completely... I'll just add this: I want this sword badly.

Your work is incredible and no doubt of the highest quality.

Could you tell us what the price would roughly be for something like the type XI?

I have been following this thread and the craftsmanship that is on display here is unbelievable.

While narrow blades like this one are not my thing I have to echo Nathan in that I would love to own this sword. The attention to detail in recreating this is superb. I find myself looking at the pictures of the guard and am continually amazed.

Keep up the great work Mateusz!

It seems I have unknowingly committed a cardinal Faux Pas in this community: Asking the maker his price in a public forum.

I do apologise! Bear with me, I'm quite new to the hobby (as my account statistics will show).
Of course manners and better judgement should have dissuaded me from doing so but I got a little overexcited after seeing Mateusz's amazing work!

I meant no offence. Please accept my sincerest apologies!
