For Sale:
Celtic "project sword"
I bought a forged Al Massey spatha blade from Albion's Moat sale a while back, and home-hilted it.
The blade is Al Massey 5160 forged steel---blunt but plenty of meat on it to put on a correct edge if desired.
Pommel and guard---hand carved naturally harvested balck walnut
grip---hand carved "columnar" grip of bovine shin bone.
Mild steel plate at shoulders of blade.
OL: 39"
BL: 30 3/4", 1 3/4" wide
wt: 3lbs? estimated
asking $115 including shipping CONUS (PayPal 3% extra). This is a bit less than I paid for the bare blade.
M.O. preferred, will accept PayPal--add 3% to cover charges

I have gotten several inquiries on this sword, and it looks like I was unclear about a point.
This sword is a home hilted project, done by me with my own amateur skills, and no power tools.
Thus, the hilt is by no means a professional job nor a work of art ;).
I am mainly selling the sword for the blade, for anyone else who wants a project blade to tinker around with, at a pretty decent price.
If the hilt does not appeal to a buyer, it could be removed/replaced/modified/reduced and what would remain would be the blade blunt---almost like a forged blank to do with as you want. :)
I hope this helps folks?
Celtic project sword is SOLD
