Hi I'm trying to identify and find out some more information on this artefact we think it's medieval from Europe it's been mentioned that it might be a sword scabbard and it has not been cleaned it looks like a base metal the lion and oak tree look enameled and the item weighs 64.2g any help would be appreciated thanks scott

It looks like it could possibly be a sword scabbard chape,....a tip protector. Not really sure if it's medieval, definitely old. The lion and oak look European to me...possibly early French or German. Just a guess on my part....good luck!..........McM

Perhaps a scabbard chape for a single edged weapon such as a falchion/Messer.
