I’d go with the Polish craftsmen you mention. I believe they capture the dynamics and overall look of the originals better than the others you mention. Just without the etching…. I have no idea why any smith uses etching other than on pattern welded blades.

I've had excellent experiences with the Polish smiths mentioned. I've been highly satisfied with the quality of the work, as well as their communication and work ethic. Highly recommended.

Fortunately I think this thread and others like it will get their attention and maybe go back to their original level of quality.

I think in general companies do have highs and lulls in quality.

Honestly, I wouldn’t bet on it. I’ve been hearing completed for at least the last 4 years. In terms of quality I’ve been lucky that all my Albion swords have been very good if not flawless. That said, my last sword from them ended up being a 3 year wait for a sword that was only slightly better in fit and finish than the Lockwood I have. Based on that wait time and the cost I don’t see buying from Albion again anytime soon.

I can recommend Lockwood swords… Very good quality even if the fittings are not as perfect as Albion’s reputation promises.
