Heavy French siege helmet Excavated in Bourgogne With Two pieces skull faceted in fourteen sections with a pivoted peak
This helmet is with additional plates mounted on the skull .
Weight about 7 kg.
Faceted skull on siege helmet seems very rare,I could no find any similar example.
Any comment on it would be welcome.

Whoa, yeah, the creased skull is rather unusual. Not enough to make me dismiss it as a fake, though.

That was a fairly fancy helm for its day. With the roping around the edges and the way the creases follow into the visor, I doubt that it belonged to a common soldier. Too bad the rest is missing. I like it! Happy ....McM
