An additional pointer.

Make sure the V shape between your thumb and indexfinger is on top of the grip and not to the side as in your first picture. In that way your radius bone which 'ends' in your thumb supports your down swing and your ulna which 'ends' in your little finger supports the up swing or the stab when you palm the pommel.
