Looking for Viking reenactment shoes/boots
I am looking to get some viking age reenactment boots or shoes but I'm not sure where I can get some that are a good value, are as historically accurate as possible but with one inaccuracy. I need a sole that I won't hurt my foot while fighting with. Something comfortable enough to hike in but not extremely noticeable as modern. Any help please?
Try Viking Leathercrafts - www.vikingleathercrafts.com. Frank Ireson, who owns it, is a very nice guy and does excellent work. Cannot answer your questions about his shoes but he will and the prices are very reasonable. I have two sporrans he made which are of excellent quality.
Do a search here for "viking shoe" and you will find at least four or five suppliers. I found Boots by Bohemond this way and I have a nice set of Jorvik boots with a felt sole. The sole blends in ok, it doesn't look like a Vibram sole or something ridicoulous. It is a little slippery on grass, but will break down a bit to have better grip.

Thank you guys a lot, I think I'm going to go with viking leather crafts for this one. You've helped me greatly.
