Few questions
Would a man in plate still carry a shield, ever?

and... i had a few others ill post them here when i remember them
Short answer. Yes, there are plenty of images of men in full plates armour using various types of shields.
Yes, they a re very large exception to the rule. Some pics are undoubtedly showing something archaic/classical but Stephen is right. Still don't think its the norm and it depends on who, when, why etc. You couldn't for example, wear a typical heater on a mid 15th cent Milanese, the couter would get in the way terribly.

but why? theyre pretty much wearing a shield so what would the point be?
would it be like a defense againse stuff like maces so they don;t take the blunt force directly on their podies of something similar to that?
If you can put something between you and lances, maces and pollaxes even if you wear armour, you do. Nobody wants to be hit by these weapons no matter what he's wearing.
And a shield might not only protect the bearer but also the people behind them.
There is plate and plate. Some very late plate can be used in joust without shield.
Another answer to why a man in plate harness might wear a shield would be financial. His armour would be among the more expensive things he owns, and even when it functions perfectly, it would retain damage from absorbing or deflecting a blow, which could be expensive to repair. Shields, on the other hand are much cheaper and easier to replace, as well as adding yet another layer of defence in a literal fight to the death.
