Hello.
I hope you can help me , I'm looking for a blacksmith who can make this kind of helmet, good quality , not really good quality but good enough to use in HMB / Botn I have around 400 euros to spend on it, and ideally like to be in the 2.5 mm . Have talked to Mardinus , he can not make this visor and has talked to platener , he is unfortunately too expensive , hope someone can help Big Grin

Have you checked out Best Armour http://www.bestarmour.com/? They are located in the EU (the Czech Republic IIRC), and they will do custom pieces. Of course, their prices are a little higher than your budget, at 500-600 euros for houndskull bascinets similar to the type you show. Plus, they charge more for heavier steel: 20% more at 2.0-mm according to their FAQ page. They do free shipping though.

Just typing bascinet into Google will get you loads of makers. This forum, although having some postings on armour is more sword and sword collecting orientated. if you look at http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB3/ you will get more luck, its very much re-enactment and armour based. Andrew Galevesky does good BOTN stuff, as do many other Russian, Czech, Polish, Ukranian armourers.
