Hello
Is there a current list of craftsmen,in the arms and armor trade, around somewhere. Most I know of are outdated. Even the links list here,or the one at Therion Arms, has several that aren`t makeing swords anymore or have disappeared entirely. Any up-to-date lists would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I am not sure where to find that type of list.

None that i know of, and I do it for a living!. There are so many makers, traders, re-sellers out there now its a pretty large list. Every month i find a new craftsperson for historical stuff.
The problem with list keeping is they become out of date so easily, esp with the important stuff, contact details. FB groups are probably the best way of seeking people out past a google search.
Currently working on projects ranging from Elizabethan pageants to a WW1 Tank, Victorian fairgrounds 1066 events and more. Oh and we joust loads!.. We run over 250 events for English Heritage each year plus many others for Historic Royal Palaces, Historic Scotland, the National Trust and more. If you live in the UK and are interested in working for us just drop us a line with a cv.

We could revise the myArmoury list, beginning in the "Suggestions" forum.
It would take a lot to keep it current, and it would need to be a volunteer effort for sure. I would be happy to help out, even to being a glorified link checker and link editor.
I see in my own bookmarks tab there are about 60 arms and armor makers and 25 LH/Reenactment type makers. I'm know there are many many more out there.
Also, it is cheaper and in some ways easier for someone to just have a FB page and no webpage. I probably wouldn't be on FB anymore myself except for those pages It's hard to search FB pages for someone if you don't know their name! However you can see who else likes a page. I've found some people like that.

Yup. So right. It's easy to send me a note.
"Hey, Nathan, <so and so> isn't in business any more. You might want to remove it from your links list."
"Hey, Nathan, have you considered adding <so and so> to your links list?"
It doesn't have to be super complicated.
