We tested out Roman Glandes or lead sling bullets to see if the old accounts of them embedding in warriors and needing special surgical tools to remove them was accurate. We got surprising results!

Try a staff sling at some range.
Have you measured the speed of the bullets with this throw? (Or the range you get with them.)

(Staff slings can have excellent performance. Fist-sized rock thrown 200m has good potential military effect.)

Would love to test out a staff sling in a future video as well as a long sling :D
There were two-handed slings that threw heavier weights as well. They were wielded in a similar manner as the olympic hammer toss.
Cool video. Thanks for posting. I have never seen a sling in action like that, no idea they could be so devastating...
