Purports to be a 12th century Northern European sword and yours for $7,000.
Far beyond my pocket, so this is just a matter of interest- good sword or hunk of scrap metal?

Collector of original 16th-17th century European arms and armour. Would like to collect earlier, but budget doesn't allow- yet!

Well, it could always be a very good fake, but nothing on this sword looks obviously wrong to me. Form is right for a 12th century european sword, Xa or maybe XI. Very similar to famous Finnish swords excavated by Leppaho.

Interesting response, thanks. I'll see if I can find some photos to post of the Finnish Leppaho swords. I must admit this is not an area of expertise for me- hence my interest in getting some views and knowledge on this sword. I am more at home with plate armour!
