Where to Buy Large 16th Century Targets / Rotellas?
Been searching everywhere and am about at my wit's end.

Looking for a large (26-30in / 66-76cm) round, domed/dished shield in steel or aircraft aluminium for a late 16th kit.

All my leads have been dead ends.

Any help here?

(On a side not, I'm aware of the Windlass 23" rotella sold in various places like Therion and the like. It's a little smaller than I'd like to go with.)
Well for aircraft aluminum or steel, I think you might have to go with a custom maker for that.

I have found a few targe makers online, but they are wooden. You might know them already. Here's Scottish Sword and Shield: http://www.scottishsword.com/Shields/TheShields.htm

Wulflund makes a 73cm iron round shield that might work: http://www.wulflund.com/armour/shields/battle...hield.html

But I think A&A or another armor maker will probably be the best depending on what exactly you want to do. If you want some custom makers, I have a list, but they may be pretty expensive.
I don't know how much these cost, you will have to contact Daryl Kyle directly via the website, but his company Texas Steel Props makes round shields in the size you're looking for:

They're 16 gauge, so they are fairly robust. The Windlass rotella is only 18 gauge-- actually thinner!
You could try to contact Baltimore Knife and Sword. I know they can make custom shields in a number of styles.
Well there is currently a steel round shield at Kult of Athena that isn't expensive.

I don't like mirror finishes, so one could use some fine sanding pads and tone it down to a more brushed finish.

Unless you are looking for greater historical accuracy in strapping etc ....... this one would be fine and a lot less costly than having a custom one made: I do see that it's smaller in diameter at around 18" than what you are looking for, but I think most period rotella where closer to 24" than to 30 "

You could E-mail Tod of " Tod's Stuff and see if he could make what you want and at what price, but he would be a good choice of maker for period authenticity.

The shield page on his site, mostly wooden shields, but I'm sure he can make almost anything:

Oh, and as mentioned by someone already A&A could probably make this as custom work, but again this might be costly:
