I wonder if they are maker marked?

It strikes me that a good number of them were likely modified by the wearers to their personal taste. Military uniformity was never a particularly big thing in the rest of the world outside Europe and the US for a long time. That would explain why some have features the others lack, such as a mail 'visor' or whatever.

Of course the manufacturer could simply have supplied a number of variants using the same basic helmet... *shrugs* would require closer examination of the specific articles in question to really tell.
This is supposedly an original liner.

That is possible, but from the little research I have been able to do, the khedives were all about modernizing Egypt and its armed forces, which included standardizing arms and equipment for its army. I think that the mail "veil" on the example from the price guide was added after the helmet was no longer used by the Egyptian cuirassiers--perhaps it was re-used by a soldier of the later Mahdist armies? As for other helmets missing certain pieces, it is possible that the mail neck guard was not installed on all helmets, but the leather liner and chin straps are important functional pieces that couldn't really be left off of the helmet without making it difficult to wear.
