Bronze hilt vs mild steel hilt for pummeling
I am new to my armory. I am currently having a custom sword made. It is an X style blade but with a twist. It's a bastard sword that can be weilded in one hand with a shield or in 2 hands. About 42 inches. The very tip will be tapered for thrusting. The pommel is an AE design and crossguard covers the hand nicely. So a Viking bastard sword if you will. I wanted opinions on bronze versus mild steel for pummeling? (The act of using the pommel as a bludgeoning tool.)
I would say no different. Both are harder than a face, so the net result would be injury.
