Futurelearn 6 week course on Richard the thirds England
I recently came across the site called Futurelearn which is a new site that offers free courses provided by established universities. It's certainly worth a look if you want to expand your knowledge a little but there is one course that immediately stood out.

England in the Time of King Richard III

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/england-of-richard-third

It's a six week free course on the last period of the War of the Roses and covers the following subjects:

medieval warfare
the lives of peasants and farmers
food and culture
death and commemoration
reading and the introduction of printing.

Who knows maybe it's worth doing and fun.

Thanks Pieter...joined up today for the Richard the Third course, sounds really interesting although I'm apparently 2 weeks behind as it began on 16th Feb. !
Pity York Uni couldn't step up in a similar way...we all know Richard was a York boy and burying him in Leicester is a bit of a kick in the cod piece for the old feller. I can't imagine a more perfect setting for his burial than York Minster...oh well.
The previous ones are excellent with a good overview of the time period. Just remember it's a course about late 15th century England, not a course about Richard III, although they have updated it to include the new discoveries.
