Anyone recognise this late 19th / early 20th c makers mark? -- myArmoury.com

I've recently bought myself what seems to be an 1882 French Infantry Officers hilt with a french 1896 Cavalry officers blade, and it has a makers mark that is giving me grief, as it is hard to search for given its shape.

Anyone recognise it?

Where was the blade manufactured? I have the same mark on my 1882 and it was made in St. Etienne. Maby there's a corelation?

No other markings on this blade, but it was made anywhere after 1896 (given it uses a 1896 blade) up to probably the end of life for the style, around the 1920's.

Hello Sebastian, BF stands for manufacturer Barré à Paris, the sword is indeed the French model 1882 officers sword.
