Petersen Type S
Good day to all of you who love crafts and history!
This is my latest piece, a petersen type S sword inspired by a Vesterhaug find, Norway.
This piece gave me a lot (actually, it took something too - 3 pills of Prozac at least :D ) . It pushed me to make a a graver and start chiseling. The little curves were a challenge, and I had to change the graver a bit, but mostly it worked. This was my first engraving on such a scale, and it was truly a nerve wrecker. The pommel was an exercise in patience, but I must say I truly enjoyed watching it change from a cube to a pentabulbuoid :)
Since it is meant to fit in the 10th century, I made the profile taper a bit more acute

So, some stats: blade length: 76cm. PoB: 12cm, weight 1280

blunt.... unfortunately :/

Oh, how I love those engravings!
Fantastic! I love that blade profile, very nice shape.
Very nicely done! Ornamented but not over ornamented.
